the Dynam tiggy is by far my fav bird to fly...on opening the box i could see that this was going to be a long term relationship

i started strait away with paint to bring her up to how i wanted her to look tamiya aluminium was used for the tank and cowl....rudder was painted with the raf insignia to set it all off

gear has been raked making this the single most easy bird to operate from grass

a xoar 12x5 woody prop was fitted for looks but made alot off differance with performance smoothing the power curve
a 2200 4s provides over 20 mins of mixed flying combined with the super effecient prop

i completed a full dash and dials with compasses fit out
and a super detailed pilot set it all off

amazing bipe to fly and if u dont own one go buy 1 today u will never look back

I picked up the dynam spit from my local trusty model shop it had been hanging upside down for months
Then shop gave me a price I couldn't turn down
It had the spinner and prop adaptor missing....
A quick dig on the shelf produced a true dynam spinner and a dynam Texan adapter was sourced

I had a few personal issues with the spit in the fact there was several scale problems

No dihedral to the wings
Fuselage where it meets tailplane is to deep
Canopy bubble was not big enough
The rear canopy glass to big
Aerial to far back
Underwing radiator's wrong shape

The first thing to do was set about the repaint with tamiya flat earth and wooden deck tan for the trop camo

The vokes .filter was next and I used plastic up in box.form shaping a piece of.foam would have been time consuming
I ended up making 2 try and get a.close match

Gear rake fwd by 15 degrees
And slight foam removal

Canopy was cut open to try and hide the fact its the wrong shape...I did eventually correct the rear glazing
Motor magnets were incorporated into the open canopy so it could b used open or closed

With the vokes filter in place 10 grams was added to make her balance to my preference

i had to get one of these after seeing the great envelope for some scale details

as soon as i had it out of the box i set about painting the whole airframe in tamiya camel yellow

i switched the esc strait out for a40a century one as i planned to run on 4 cell and wanted to avoid that splutter from the stock detrum unit

i added robart scale at6 wheels which strait away gave the aircraft a nice ground look

mods include semi scale cockpit fit out
carved airiels
dummy radial
outboard flaps and inboard split flaps

dynam at6 harvard very low scale pass (0 min 17 sec)

After owning the 109 for a while I decided it needed a scale makeover and a few mods...

I have made the slats operational via a wire control system

Next task was to complete a full split flap mod...the 109 handled very well with the stock flap setup and slow speed handling is great.....
With the split flaps its much better and floats around at very slow speeds with full authority

Another must for the tempest is that enormous chin rad
I recreated it by using plastic card and cutting a 5mm oval from a pre made.template mesh was used for the cooling fins...
The centre piece was made from a jet nozzle.from a plastic static kit..

The wheels...something the tempest stands out with...I used j.Perkins wheels and cut.plastic card fillets to create the semi covered spokes..all had a coat of revell steel

Canopy edges trimmed to follow the natural line of the bubble..cockpit was painted with tamiya German grey to add a little depth..
Canopy glass was polished using windscreen stone chip repair finishing...Continue Reading

The tempest from side profile looked naked without those big hanging inner doors
So I took up the challenge of making operational ones...
