Discussion CC Bec and RX Lipo pack

Hi,

I would like to use a CC Bec and a small 450mAh 2S Lipo pack for RX alimentation in my Avionik.

Should I put the switch between the Lipo pack and the regulator or between the regulator and the RX..?

Discussion Motor-gearbox attachment

I've got a few motors that will work fine for a 2m size hotliner if I can put a gearbox on them. They all have 19mm holes on them and some have 16mm holes too. All are m3 mounting screws if that matters. Do all gearboxes bolt to the motor? What other gearbox options are out there other than ones neu sells?

This is not anything new, but I tamed my mother-in-laws monster Singer seamer machine and these were the results...nice wing bags for two D05:s. The Gay Rhino is back and in fashionable colour!

Help! Airframe suggestion for 1512/1D

After writing off my Kamelot a while ago I am in the market for a new airframe to take my 1512/1D and up to 5S. I would like to keep it under US$500 and it needs to be able to be shipped to Australia easily, which probably excludes 1 piece wings, otherwise I would buy an Enigma from SUSA.

I had an unusual unilogger result today.
I have my logger set as a limiter, the logger is set to start at RX an(on).
When looking at the log it started at 464 W.min from time zero and also was reading 3.07 Amps when the motor was off. the motor pulse width indicates that the motor was off. After every climb it dropped back to 3.07Amps. Obviously I was surprised when the motor stopped at 22sec instead of about 32sec and I thought I had fried a controller.
Any Ideas? RX Spektrum AR6250 and CC180 controller version 1.06 unlogger software.

Question Proper Technique for F5B ?

I have just started to try to practice F5B laps.I have been watching F5B videos. I see various ways of climbing and starting the laps. I also see some that do left turns and some that do left and right turns. Is there a �standard� or best way to do this? Are there any videos you can point me at that show �the� way to do it?

Poop, Poop darn. Ok, 3rd burn on my enigma, and pop, bing bang.... long story short the 1512 1d 6.7 busted the mount, motor broke through the fuse and twisted a little between the esc.:censored: Question is if the motor still work and the esc seems fine what is the prudent thing to do?
Also, the beeps don't seem as loud when I tested the motor.

Question CC 180 extra wires?

New Product K&A Models Extreme Velocity Pylon Racer

Not sure if many know that we do produce a very nice high performance Pylon Racer called the Extreme Velocity.

This is a fully hollow molded fiberglass airframe with live hinged ailerons and elevator and come pre painted.

We have a group in Southern California at Airland Hobbies flying these and recording speeds around 160 mph right now. Not to say you have to go that fast but the potential is there if one would want it.

I fly mine with an Eflite Six motor on a 1350 3s using just a 4.75 x 4.75 and it gets up to 100 mph with no problem and its only pulling 20 amps. I routinely get flights of over 8 minutes. Thats not full throttle the entire flight but it never drops below 80 mph or so during that 8 minutes.

One should check them out you can't beat the price.

Hello guys ,

Yesterday I made the first prop from the new mold.
The result is perfect.
The prop is very good quality and strength.
The dimmensions are 17x19,5 on 5 degrees , and 17x21 on 7 degrees hub.
Also designed to fit RFM's spinners.
Very good folding on the Enigma fuse.

The prop will be distributed by Eflight and maybe SUSA , but also accept personnal orders by PM.

Question Which hotliner to get?

If it is possible to have too many choices then this would be one of those times. I've only looked at Soaring USA as I got an Escape from them and got good service. There seems to be plenty of choices in the $300 range that look like good planes and I'm not looking to spend much more than that. I read all the descriptions and they all sound like great planes, but a paragraph and a picture only tells you so much.

I've watched all the youtube videos I can find, one big question I have is performance: What sort of power is needed to get above ~120mph on planes this size? My Escape does about that and I don't want anything slower.

I see the choices are about evenly split with flaps and without. Good idea or no? How well does an average setup glide? Unless there's something I don't know I'd prefer to avoid the cost and weight(?).

Suggestions? Other things to consider? Comments to help narrow the choices down?

New Product Fusion 400 sport/racer

Just picked up my new K&A Models Fusion racer. I saw Ken flying it last Sunday and ordered one on the spot.

Every time I pick up a kit by Ken I always say "man, Ken does nice work."

The fuse is fiberglass and wing/tails are all vacum bagged. Put the kit on the scale with all the parts came in at 10oz. I think Ken is flying his at 21oz.

Already had the motor mount installed which is included shaped and drilled. Wing is jointed but have to cut out the moving surfaces. So far a very fun 30 minutes. Should be able to finish it by tonight.

As per the name of the thread; B08 wing CofG

Any advice on what to do in terms of CofG on a B08 ?!

I read on the Japanese website 56-62 mm. Assuming this is from the LE ofcourse.

Currently i measure my CofG to be somewhere aft of 60mm and short of 65mm. Pritty hard to do with just my fingers.

Anyone flown the B08 with a CofG aft of 62mm?! What about 65mm?!

Question Why Use Separate Rx Battery?

I've been wondering why so many F5B pilots use a separate rx battery to power their rx and servos. Some simply recommend using an external BEC with the main lipo or just using the esc's internal BEC in some cases. Also, how exactly is such a setup achieved. Is it as shown in the attached diagram?

The equipment that I have to work with includes:
motor = Hacker B50 9S
esc = CC125
main lipo = FP 4s 3300 mah
rx = AR7000
servos = 5 HS125 (flat)
bec = Castle 10 Amp
rx lipo = TP 2s 910 mah
