So, I finally started putting my nqd arrow wind together and ran into a few problems. Where can I find a .150 flex cable with a 1/8" prop shaft and a coupler to fit a 5mm motor shaft? Not from Off Shore Electrics!, I want a cheaper place.

Discussion Confused about 1/10 cackerbox sizes

Hello all and thanks for any help pending. I'm new here.
Thinking about building a 1/10 scale crackerbox and am slightly confused by the rules. IMPBA states the hull must be within 1/8 inch of the real thing, I was just at the APBA site checking out the legal dimensions of a full sized boat. They state the max length is 15 foot 6 inches and max width at station 7 is 70".
Well that means 186" length at 1/10 scale would be 18.6" long and 7" wide. Why do all commercial hulls seem to be about 20" long? is this not a fair bit bigger than 1/10 scale? I want to build a legal hull but the kits available all seem to big to be legal! What am I missing? Are there different classes of full sized boats or something?
The APBA site has all the offsets for a full size hull and was thinking of the possibility of drawing my own plans up for a kick. Winter is here so brickwork in Canada is done and snow plowing leaves me a fair amount of time to play, plan and bench race. Currently planning the paint scheme for next years new N-2 Sport Hydro and think adding a crackerbox to the fleet would be fun. I personally love the smaller boats especially the N-1 classes as I feel they reward driving skill instead of dollars spent! Same in Karting I race F1-k which is a stock Honda 6.5 horse with the governor removed! Thanks for the help and info:-)

Hi guys,just finished building my graupner challenger[and thanks to the person who started the build,it was a challenge]still, almost there.I've built the boat with the help of str3ngthz who emailed pics of his boat.What I need now is help with the electrics,ie a diagram.I have 2 speed 700 turbo neodym,power mos 60 esc,2 condensor's[suppressor's] gold connectors,battery cable parallel,distribution cable and hi flex copper wire.With the esc came one schottky-diode and three tiny electrical components[which I think are interference suppressors]? seems strange to have one diode and three suppressors as there is two motors.Also, which is the positive/negative terminal on the motors,or is it trial and error to see which way the motor turns?Graupner recommend nimh battery's 14.4v 3600, good or not? also what size fuses with this set-up.Thanks in advance to any electrical genius who can help out with this. I have started a new project converting a new Probaot Shockwave55 to electric power. I am starting with a new hull and all new hardware, The motor is a new product, A very large water jacketed Outrunner motor I designed and now have for sale. This motor is made to replace the large weedeater type boats to make them able to run in waters not for gas. It seems we are loosing to much water to non gas.

Here is a few pictures to get started. I will be running this boat on 10s batteries.

Discussion Brushed motor cooling questions

I`m fitting my CenGt775 with a Cordite 700ss1 and an Astroflight 212D esc.The used motor came with brushtab cooling already on it,plus i have a SV27 silicon water jacket that fit the can motor perfectly.Questions;
1)Should i use only one cooling method or can i use both?whats recommended?
2)if one,which one then? ..the tabs?
3)if i can use both methods,should i run the water through the tabs first and then through the silicon jacket before it exits the boat?

Question Aquacraft ul-1 motor upgrade

Hi I just bought one of these ul-1's second hand. It came with a Turnigy 180 amp esc and stock motor. I was running a single 4s 5000 mah turned side ways up front. The stock motor burned up after 6 runs.Prop size is octura
x642.Too much batt.?Too much Prop? What are my motor upgrade options?

Why does prop rpm matter? From what I understand, a small prop spinning at a faster rpm can equal a larger prop spinning at a lower rpm. Is it imperative to keep rpm around 32k? I was wondering because I wanted to put 76k rpm (at 7.4v) to a 15mm prop on a 9 inch boat.

Basically just a mini-z cat with a 1220 (inrunner) with 10300kv.

Hey does anyone know anything about the Race boats at Leg Lake in California?

I drove about 45mins to Leg Lake a few weeks ago & no one showed up to run boats.
I like Gas & Electric everything. Rumor has it that the Gas & Electric guys don't get along? Very sad. I brought a lot of Cash & was ready to buy an Electric Race boat. May end up with a gas boat too. I think the best way to get into a nice Race boat is to buy something ready to go and talk to the people running them.
Any info or Web sites on Electric or Gas boat racing would be very helpful to me. Everyone at my local lake in Riverside doesn't know really too much about Race boat clubs or where to check them out. They mostly run Sailboats.

:) Just started on a new little project again, rebuilding my P1 ARPRO,it was a good boat for the time but time to make it better. It came with a 3536 1500kv outrunner motor 40amp esc on 3 cells ( 11.1 ), stock it done 34.4kphthe most a got was 39.9kph.....So i ripped everything out !!! Time to start something better (i hope) So im going to use the hardware out of my Blackjack26 59.9kph :)which was used in my other boat M.D.K. 44.4kph :)Which was in a bad crash...:( So now it's going to go in the P1 ARPRO....:cool: Now lets start.... ran my dual motor cat last week,and batteries got super hot!!! and just remembered that when charging the 2 batts packs on my cheapo RadioShack charger that on one of the packs the charger red led was blinking.Found out today that when it blinks it means the pack is bad.Can this be the probable cause for them to overheat?.....I know there can be many variables for this,just want to make sure this is one of them....
By the way,have a nice charger on the way as we speak.......thanks

i am now on my 3rd miss elam dont want to send it back again,OK heres the deal got it back two weeks ago ran it for the first time last weeked, did everything like the manual said but when i put it in the water it went normal for one big turn then i went full throttle did not seem as fast as the other ones i before this one, got half way down the pond maybe 20 or 30 feet i think and it studderd then dyed, had to swim for it. tonight i tryed to find out whats wrong so i turned on the controller, hooked up the batts in the boat, turned on the power switch and it hummd no beeping thow, the rudder moved breifly and prop ran for like a second then rudder twitching and nothing,please help guys.....:confused:

Just recently got into RC boats and own a 32" catamaran. More of a toy than a real speed boat. Anyway, I am hooked and am looking to purchase a decent speed boat. I am looking at an Aquacraft Supervee 27. Have seen videos and am blown away at the speed of this boat. Pros and cons on purchasing this boat. Appreciate any input.

Does anyone know of kit or some company that can rewind motors? Normaly i would just buy a new one but this one is vintage. Its a Cobalt 05 Marine racing motor 18-magnet 8-pole. I'm prety sure it was abused before i got it but i sure finished it off after one run. It's a very nice motor that has some historical value so if it can be restored it would realy be nice. Thanks for any help.
