Discussion I facebooked person about lost wallet, and she reported me to police. What the...?

I found two ID's and credits cards in a trash can. I reached in and rescued them. Then I facebooked the girl on the ID and she sounded very nice, asked me to mail them to her or bring them to the police station where she filed the police report. Well, three days later, I get a message from a Police Detective saying that "This is detective X. I've been in contact with ... you found some of her property and credit cards and IDs. She has been in contact with you about recovering that property. There was an option of mailing the property to her another option is turning her to Z police department and then I could go down there and return the items.."

I was shocked to hear to get a call from a police. If somebody found your cell phone or your wallet, and then gave you their number and said they would mail it back to you, would you report their name, number, and all information to the police and have a detective call them to retrieve the items? Sounds totally unnecessary, especially after I pulled the girl's stuff out of a trash can!

If you lost a wallet and someone was nice enough to contact you, would you report them to the police?

What's with all the thrust vectoring EDFs..even planes that were never vectoring are getting it...why?

Mig29
F-35

What's next? Thrust vectoring 737s? Thrust vectoring Piper Cub?

Can't they concentrate on aircraft that were NEVER developed into model kits? LIke B-52, 737, B-1B, 747, C-5, C-17..etc heavys are always losing out to fighters and it's annoying.:p:D

Discussion RC TV kicks off!!!!

Hey guys,

the new season of R/C tv kicks off today.:):):):):)

It was on at 8:30am and will be running at 11am as well.

every Saturday at 8:30 and 11 on OLN.

Watch it if you can then go to OLN's website and post a comment saying that we want to keep rctv. it is one of those shows that have a pretty small target views base, and will no support or comments it could slip away weather it be this season or next.

the more people who comment the more money rctv gets through a whole complicated system that i don't really care about knowing of.

RCTV+$$$= better show, more shows, and many future show to come (next season).

Question Studying for the PPL!

I'm planning on preparing for my PPL and I was wondering what material I should study. Ground School will begin around the first of the year, but what materials can I begin studying? I figure that it can't hurt to get a little head-start.

I own a small Oversize Load Escort company.Here is a couple of pics I took this past week while working along side the Louisiana State police.Our caravan of 9 Vehicles consisted of 3 State troopers,4 private escorts and two 18 wheelers.The 2 compressor skids that we escorted were 18'wide,17'tall and 230,000lbs.The move was from Broussard Louisiana to Ft.Stockton Texas.Enjoy......

Question Plastic type mold thing?

I would like to know if anyone knows of a product that, if I am correct, is like a two part epoxy, maybe not. I want to make a mold that turns hard and plastic like. I believe there is something that you put into the mold itself before putting the stuff into the mold so that it doesn't stick when you take it out.

I can't really explain it well but if you know what I am talking about please let me know what I can use.

Hi,

I've got this Victa lawnmower that was thrown out becuase it had water in it. and the owners bought a new one.

I opened it up and got rid of the water, put it alll back together and it runs ok.

I originally just wanted it for one part, then i was going to throw it out, but now im thinking I should have a go at moding it to make it as powerful as i can get it

What sort of things do you think would be cool to try?
I'm thinking of porting and polishing a bit and taking off the rev governer.

Any ideas would be great!

Nowadays you can't be to prepared, with modern company's ( Avon , Marry Kay) all working on products to keep skin looking health and not ageing has fast soon they will take it to far and the cosmetics that re rive dead skin might just revive the dead.

I had past thought than when this happened I would just hole up at the local armory, It is like a mini fortress there and seems like a good place to wait it out. But what if help never comes. So I have decided that Zombie Plan 12# will include a small stint at the armory ( guns, Hummers ,MRE's, tons of fuel) than a trip up North through the back country ( avoiding large city's altogether) and end up Some Place cold in Canada , or Alaska. There I believe the cold weather will turn them into frozen corpesicles and you can dispatch them with easy.

This is one of my many Zombie Plans for when they try to take over, what are you going to do??

Alright, down to business.

My primary complaint with Mac computers is their lack of flexibility and general proprietary nature in both hardware and software regards.

I build and maintain my own personal computers as well as many for companies I've worked for or partly owned, one of them being a semi-local wireless internet provider. I enjoy the luxury of being able to customize and upgrade computer systems to best suit both my own needs as well as the needs of others.

Much of the touted reasoning for choosing a Mac over a PC is flawed. PCs can be more susceptible to viruses and bugs if inadequately protected and maintained, but this is because they support several times the amount of hardware and software options, making PCs more capable and user friendly in more ways.

If you have limited and unchanging needs and/or want to be trendy and appear cool to your rectangular-glasses-wearing yuppie friends who also don't know any better, get a Mac. Otherwise, get a PC.

A little harsh; I know. But the Mac ads made me do it.

Right, so I've decided to start a new charity. It's called the I Want a GT Silver Metallic 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 with Black Wheels and Porsche Ceramic Composite Breaks (and a few additional options) Fund. :D

This car hurts my feelings - in a good way.

But seriously, It's the ultimate driver's car, in my humble opinion. The question is: Can I rationally justify spending the odd 150 on a toy? :o

The GT2 has higher performance specs, but gives you less handling control, can be more temperamental, and comes with a higher price tag. I'm not much for drag racing. 0-60 (mph) in 4.0 with the GT3 is good enough for me, I think.

What do you guys say?

I have these two guys that are trying to break into my truck. The first night that they came at 8:00 pm and my neighbor and I just happened to have walked out at that time and spooked them and they ran off. On Monday night at 1:30 am they came back and slapped the hood of my truck to see if I had an alarm on it, which I do. I have a very good alarm. My key chain alarm goes off at the same time as the alarm on the truck. When they slapped it it just set of the warning alarm sound with a few chirps, 10 seconds later my key chain goes off. By the time I got out there they were gone. If they come back again and set of the main my key chain goes of instantly. I hate it for them but they won't get out of my yard because I will shoot them on the spot. So I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions or know of any deterrents that might keep these punks from bleeding in my yard. Police in this area are useless and won't do anything.

does anyone remember the name of the movie in the 80's where a small boy had a wide variety of R.C. planes helicopters and cars and would use them to taunt i think robbers of some sort and eventually help cops catch them, i dont really remember the whole story line, all i remember what the kid had bookoo r.c. toys in the movie
