are any of these parts the same or compatible as parts of the current model or are they completly different???

Thanks for the kind comments on my Ferrari...........i thought i would post another car. This one is a 1962 Corvette that started out life as a "doll" car. Its 19" long and i thought it looked so scale i just had to try it. Completely dismantled it and added all the hobby grade parts, futaba servo, Duratrax sprint ESC, Duratrax vendetta 380 motor and a 7 cell nimh. The body had to be sanded quite a bit, then primed, finally 3 coats of "classic" white. I bought the Fonzie driver figure off of ebay, he fits the car well. I really like doing these toy conversions because they look so scale. Thanks for looking!!

Discussion how to remove stripped screws

Hiya,

I just received my used Hyper 8, but many of the underside countersunk hex screw are stripped and wont come out.
Is there a tool to remove them?

Also, the center driveshafts on the car have a lot of movement in them - they can move back and forth a large amount. Is this normal for this car?

ok im new to nitro cars and just wanted to know if you guys could give some advise...

i have a friend that wants to sell me his tmaxx classic

he has a new 3.3 in it with a new clutch, dual exhaust, upgraded axles and chassis, lower gears with the front locked, 2 sets of wheels with a bunch of lil things and the remote and its pull start

he said $200 just wanted to know if this was a good deal thanks

Hey guys, i didnt know where to post so i chose here. Does anyone else have this interest that I find very appealing? I though i'd share one of several projects i have done. I really like to take the "toy grade" cars and put hobby grade equipment in them and paint and detail them to look scale. This car has A duratrax seven cell ESC, a Futaba servo, a Duratrax high rpm 380 motor and Futaba radio gear. I put hobby grade tires on it and upgraded the suspension a bit too. Suprisingly, it is very fast...........i'd say at least in the 25-30 range. As a kid i loved to build models, now i build 'em AND they drive.............i love it!! Thanks for lookin'!!

Discussion RC TV kicks off!!!!

Hey guys,

the new season of R/C tv kicks off today.

It was on at 8:30am and will be running at 11am as well.

every Saturday at 8:30 and 11 on OLN.

Watch it if you can then go to OLN's website and post a comment saying that we want to keep rctv. it is one of those shows that have a pretty small target views base, and will no support or comments it could slip away weather it be this season or next.:(:eek::mad:

the more people who comment the more money rctv gets through a whole complicated system that i don't really care about knowing of.

RCTV+$$$= better show, more shows, and many future show to come (next season).

Im finaly getting an rc car:D but I cant choose witch one:confused:
so I thought id ask u guys; here are the options I have found:
1. Losi micro-T with bearings, threaded shocks, and street wheels.
2. Losi micro Highroller, with micro t charger (apparently the one it comes with is crap)
3. mini-T with about $50us of extra parts
4. rc18T rtr with nothing else.

any other ideas?
all opinions welcome
this may not be my final choice i just want to know which is best value.
What would be the best parts to get fot mini T?

The car will strickly be for bashing

A year or so I bought a JR XS3 transmitter off Ebay hoping to consolidate all my cars to one transmitter. Finally getting back to doing this.

What receivers work with the JR XS3 transmitter? All my cars are 2 channel, and if a crystal receiver is cheaper, I'd rather get that. (I see the RS310 is ~ $75, too rich for my blood.)

I'm getting back into the R/C Car sport after about 20 years gone. SO much has changed! My little brother passed away recently and I am going to rebuild this car as we talked about doing it in the past. I can't seem to identify what brand it is so I can order replacement parts and get this going. I have a few pictures of it and would certainly appreciate any help. It has a belt driven AWD and many carbon fiber parts. I'm not sure if the carbon fiber parts were upgrades or came standard on this car. Either way, I can't do anything with it until I can identify it. So come on and help me get back into the sport! :)

There was a Nascar store in Everett, Wa about 12 years ago. The owner had a racing league, the cars were modified model cars(basic revel nascar models?). Ive searched andsearched and can't find any article or how to. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks Bill

Hello,

I'm new to RCing, besides the couple little Radio-Shack type cars I had as a kid, brand new. I'm generally a cabinetmaker... but a friend of mine recently told me of the great advances in the RC car world. I have done some fiber layout (carbon, Kevlar, a bit of fiberglass, and carbon-Kevlar) I would like to design a car (based on a cartoon, but I have to contact the creators before I proceed with the design stage) that is 1/8th scale. The car I would like to model from is very large, think 50's era Cadillac.

My goal in this build is to make the ultimate 1/8th(?) scale touring car. Heavy isn't a huge concern, but high torque, long-lastingness and good--rather great-- tires are.

So, what's the best motor? Electric or Combustion? Best of the subcategories therein? What are the best shocks? I'd like to implement the "10mph" bumper that my '77 Buick was built with, as well as Cadi-type suspension and handling. How about break rotor?

The frame I believe I'll build of ash (wood,) but everything else I'd like in something stronger, who makes the toughest parts?
What is the best remote system? Is there a company that utilizes long-range transmission and camera technology?

Basically if you have other great part ideas, let me know. I want to build this thing to be tough as nails, and last twice as long. Also 65MPH (real) speeds would be nice. :)

Oh, and I want to make it like a mini car, separate bumpers, door-panels, body, hood, trunk, etc... Tell me your dream choices, and perhaps a reasonable alternative as well.
