*Hi Steve and All,

Richard sold me his EXI T-Rex 250 helicopter, Scorpion Motor and Jeti
speed controler for helicopters with programing board. The T-Rex-250 is
smaller than a piccolo and yes Kicks butt! Head speed is 4000 RPM.

This video was shot here in Tehachapi with Richard flying the Little
T-Rex 250 the yellow helicopter below in the picture about 5 day ago.

**Here is a video of Richard flying his T-Rex 250 with carbon 205MM blade.

The little T-Rex 250 has a Carbon frame and a all metal head. They Run
about $54.00 from Hobby King. The head speed of the blades on the T-rex
250 is 4000 RPM. Bothe of the Larger helicopters T-Rex 450 and T-Rex 500
both have a head speed of 2400 RPM.

The Larger two helicopter are ready to fly. I have been flying both of
then on a regular basis. Here is the current video of Richard Chandler
flying 3D Helicopter maneuvers with all three helicopters.

Hi Ed.

All of these suggestions are in runners for and a geared 2.3 -1
reduction drive to be included. They are to equal or better a Speed 400
7.2 volt about 90-110 watts or better.

This first one is a inrunner and over kill. 2X the power as a 400 (180
watts) (400 is 90-110 watts). This does have the same shaft size and
mounting holes I am pretty sure are the same too. Sam weight as a speed
400 though. at 63 grams.
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...hless_Inrunner
<http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4203&Product_Name=HXT_20  40_%28130L%29_2080kv_Brushless_Inrunner>

This one is nice with the right shaft size and mounting holes I believe.
and weighs less than the above. It is a real hot motor though. you
might end up with a 6X5 prop.
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...hless_Inrunner
<http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5220&Product_Name=HXT_20  30_%28130S%29_4300kv_Brushless_Inrunner>

This is the best choice so far. The right shaft size (2.3 mm) and
mounting holes and the weight is less than a speed 400
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...ess_Motor_(FIN)
<http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4211&Product_Name=KB20-40L-20L_2900kv_Brushless_Motor_%28FIN%29>

This si the same as above but much faster and would work with the 7X6
prop or 6X5 may be.
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...s_Motor_(FIN)_
<http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3850&Product_Name=KB20-40-14L_4200kv_Brushless_Motor_%28FIN%29_>

This would work for a 8X6 I think right shaft and mounting. Less weight
than a 400
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...hless_Inrunner
<http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4488&Product_Name=KDA_20-40_28Turn_L_Brushless_Inrunner>

I hope this helps.
> Hi A good motor that would have the same wattage out as the 7.4 speed
> 400 (95 watts) is the AXI 2028-34 on 3 lithium cells. The AXI is a
> great motor and very useful I cannot say enough about it.
> If you would like a Hobby King replacement suggestion. Write me and i
> will give you one. A good thing to know is the plane it id going into.
>
> It's going into a Blue Foamie, All foam model I use for training.
> I would like a Hobby King replacement, must be an "Inrunner"
>
>         here's the specs
>
> Installed Multiplex speed 400 with 2.3:1 GB & 7X6 Gunther Prop
> Installed 2 Spectrum S75 servos
> Wing to 36"
> Weight 15.4 oz.
> Run Up SV- 9.99 A -- 12.73 W -- 114 Est 5-14 mins.
I use the Hacker B - 20  12 L with a 4:1 gear  box.  It can be propped
to run well on 2 or three cells between 100 - 220 watts. It works very
well in the E Blaster and some foam models weighing up to 25 oz or so. I
usually set it up for a 20 - 25 amp draw for take off and then about 1/3
throttle is enough for sustained flight..

Although the initial investment is a bit more than a speed 400, it
will last a lifetime. I have several, but the oldest is at least 5 years old
and is used several times a week. In the Blaster I use a 900 Mah 2 or 3
cell LiPo depending on the thermal activity and my mood? 3 cells gets me to
600 feet in about 15 seconds, 2 cells takes 25 or so, but the lighter
weight (14 oz) is better for light thermals.
