Just changed to the new vBulletin format this week. Lots of users are complaining about the change.

They looked similar to RcGroups before this week.

I don't know if RCgroups is considering that, but is very different in appearance. I don't like the reduced contrast. No other major complaints.

What do you think? Should RCGroups adopt that?

This thread will get killed/deleted / move but.........

Anyone else finding the new feactures a pain? First I had to wait hours and hit refresh many times for a response of mine to show up. Well I got them to fix that ,now the new message notification is a pain and when you reply to a PM it automaticly save a copy in the sent folder and sofar I have not figured out how to stop it from doing so.

Someties when posting a response or answering a PM it look like you could edit the OP post / PM.

Suggestions / complains Forum is extremly busy these days.:)

On all the treads, there is a box that shows how many replies are in the thread, and how many 'views' the thread has.

If I click on the thread and read it, does it constitute a 'view' each additional time I do this?

I have in the past weeded the messages, but even so, there are some I like to hang on to, and as my time here has become longer, the number of them I want to keep, if only for sentimental reasons, has become pretty large. I do have some I can delete, but...

The email suggests archiving them. I would like to know how to do this, if it is something I can do which will keep the old messages, and free up some space.

I can't seem to do it anymore. All that shows up is the YouTube link, not the video.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a thread in the Humor forum entitled "Cleavage" and showing lots of pictures of just that. Only a few years ago I posted a picture taken at the National History Museum in London. It was of a rock and a small card next to it labelling it as "milky zoned cleavages". I found it amusing but it was apparently too strong for the then moderators and the post was removed.

Nice to know that things have changed and that RC Groups has ligthened up a bit. Thanks RC Groups.

Is it no longer possible to add something like click here to insert a link. When you click on the link insertion button in the editor, it only gives you the choice of listing the full url, not a title and then the entire url is listed in your post.

For example:

Can someone please tell me when you click on a person's username, and scroll down to "General Information", why you can see "Last Activity", and "Joined Date" on most, (but not all) accounts?

(example-mine)
Last Activity: Today 07:26 PM
Join Date: Oct 28, 2009

But on some usernames "Last Activity" is hidden/not shown, (are these people hiding or something?) :confused:

I am new here, but already find it useful to know if a member has been here at all today, (to view a PM sent to him this morning). While on most members you can see that info, there are some you can't. WHY is that? :confused:

A "new and improved" feature of this site seems to be a limit of 10 pictures per post.
That's fine most of the time, but I have a thread that's collecting slope soaring location information in my area. I update the first post with pictures and data so people don't have to wade through the whole thread, but sadly this update has put an end to that community service.

Change is rarely a good thing, and this one really annoys me.

The mods don't have a the guts to reply, but just gave me a warning for my "hyperflight co uk" Custom User Title. I don't see why because it isn't advertising or offensive. If they carry on like this I will soon be out of here.

It is almost funny, because a couple of months ago I enquired about becoming a sponsor but never got a reply. I very much doubt I would do now.

Question What are the benefits of the upgrade?

The bugs and problems resulting from this latest "upgrade" have been obvious. Some have already been fixed, and hopefully more will be resolved in due course.

But can anyone tell me what benefits or improvements have resulted from it? I've tried to find something that is better or significantly different from the way things were before, but I just haven't seen anything.

I ask this in all seriousness. I honestly would like to know what I'm missing here.

I may be the only idiot who does this, but when I come to rcg, I click search, hit the "subscribed forums" button, and then open each page, 10-20 pages usually, in a new window on aol, or tab in IE.

My reason for doing that is sometimes I dont get through all the pages of new posts before I get the "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. ":mad:

An "open all" button would be awesome in the box below, or in the "Go to Page" pull down

Page 9 of 19 � First < 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 > Last � Go to Page...

I have a post on this in site suggestions as well, but only Mike can respond there....

FYI, you MUST click the "Last Page" link to make your new posts in subscribed threads go away.

Also, if you post in a thread you have subscribed to, it will not show up in your new posts like it used to....

I also find it odd that you can't edit your thread titles anymore. (EDIT: You have to click "Go Advanced" to edit your titles.

Discussion Search results not correct?

Good Morning,

Everyday, sometimes 10 times a day - I come to the site, select 'advanced search', Search by user name, posts by user, and enter my login (TRP) - I hit 'search'.

Usually in .005 milliseconds I am greeted with every thread I've ever replied or posted in. Usually with the newest / most active treads at the top of my listing. All right there for me to look at. I can narcissistically check for updates and what not.

Today - when I search using the same method I've used 100 x 100 ^100 times before, my results are much different. The results I get are IDENTICAL to what I'd get if I searched for "all threads started by a user name". This is quite frankly the saddest thing I have ever seen. I almost threw up. I wept. I'm looking for small rodents to kick.

Did you guys pull a Facebook and change the functionality of a great tool and render it virtually useless? Did someone fat finger a line of code? Are you trying to make me work for my posts/results?

Help. Throw me a bone here...

Whats up with the board this morning? Im seeing icons in the root page, cannot get to my blog thru mygroups and when I did the fonts are, well all screwed up.
Now im seeing a infractions pane in my blog:confused:

When I went to log out a window popped up and it said "undefined" click ok and you get a new page saying "An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out.

I've always had a problem with the search function, but I haven't been here in a long time and now that I'm back I was hoping to finally figure it out. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Say I search for ESC in titles in the power system forum.

It only goes back to 2003. This happens all the time. It often only goes back to 2001 or 2003.
