I set the plane on the gear, then adjusted the bend until the axles set flat on the workbench before using the kevlar thread to secure them to the gear legs.

Cool wheelpant design! Glue the axle stem to a piece of 3mm; glue on 3 pieces of 6mm; put on the wheel; glue on the last 3mm as a cap! It would've been nice for the stem to have gone through the outer 3mm piece to make it easier to align it properly, but

The Hitec extended arms appeared to provide enough throw, at least to start.

The rudder saver added a 'unique' look to the fuselage. I'll be curious to see how useful it is, and decide for myself if it really is a good trade-off for the odd look.
