Here you can see the 0.065mm enamelled copper wire I used wrapped 7 times around the hooks. This method of making wire is good because you can customise the wire totally for different applications.

The, fixed hook made from a length of coat hanger wire. It must be springy!

The hook was fixed by pushing though a hole in the batten before bending around the batten. Feel free to replace with an “engineered” solution.
