The, fixed hook made from a length of coat hanger wire. It must be springy!

The hook was fixed by pushing though a hole in the batten before bending around the batten. Feel free to replace with an “engineered” solution.

The quality of the wire is good and most won’t know it was homemade.

The wire is much easier to tin before cutting.
