which radio modem

i don't know whether to get a 900mhz or 2.4Ghz radio modem for my Tiny 2.11. can someone clarify the differences in performance? :confused:

EDIT: i will be flying this near(1-2 miles away) or around a small city. everything with be flight tested and tuned AWAY from the city. only when i'm confident in the system will i fly, in very close proximity to me, in some of the large patches of empty land around the city.

900 MHz can propagate farther with less power. The drawback is that it must use a lower bitrate (though for serial communications you will not even come close to the carrier frequency limit)

2.4 GHz I believe is cheaper, but it is very common frequency for such things as WiFi access points and wireless telephones. There is a good chance of interference.

Maybe somebody who specializes in RF stuff can expound further (I only took a couple of classes in EM)

Buzz sums up perfectly. Only advantage to 2.4ghz is smaller antenna and coils.
