How to ID motors?

1.How do you ID the many different types of motors.
2.Can anyone tell me what the pictured motors are and are they good to install in my American Enterprise? They do have internal cooling and I plan to use them with 12V gel cell, 2x2 props. About how many amps would they draw?

looks like 550 36mm diameter, the question is what voltage they are. See if you can get a picture of the windings inside.

You can rarely tell by looking at a p/n on a motor, as those are either the customer's p/n or the maker's p/n for a very specific application... but you can evaluate "found" motors easily enough, see the thread at
