Hello

Does anyone know OR remember a Florida Company that Specialised in the Retuning of Futaba Radios and Receivers ? I would like to contact them to see how much to convert Futaba Receivers to Surface 75 mHz Frequency ? It is Real difficult to find Surface Frequency Large Channel Receivers for Scale Ship use. I would like to see how much the Cost would be and if its worth it.

Any Shop Sources would be Appreciated, I know Futaba has a Service Department But they are Really Costly.

Thanks, George

There is a Marine website that has modules that will convert one channel to 4 or more channels. I don't have it at hand but will try & find it later tonight.

Not much help with your Futaba but...........
This may be of some help for additional channels.
I have no idea at all how they do it..

Expansion Modules for F-14 Navy Radio
Multi-Switch 16 Module
This module expands one proportional transmitter channel into 16 switched functions. It features five 3-position switches, 2 on/off switches/momentary switches, and a 2-position momentary switch.

Multi-Switch 16 Decoder Memory
For each Multi-Switch module, one decoder is required at the receiver end. The decoder only occupies one servo channel, but provides direct control of 16 switched channels. Operating voltage 4.8-24V, up to 1.8A per output. It features memory function which can be switched off if preferred. All channels assigned to one physical switch can be switched on simultaneously. This decoder can also process the switched functions of the 8-channel switch module; in this case only 8 channels can be controlled. The output stage is short-circuit, reverse polarity and overheating protected. Cables are not supplied and need to be purchased separately as required.

Radio South is in Pensacola. They do this kind of work and have a great reputation.

I was referred to Radio South a couple of weeks ago as a possible source for internal Futaba parts. I emailed them and never received ANY reply. :(

Are you trying to convert only the receiver? Or, both the receiver and the transmitter?

You don't mention what type of radio you have.

Another possible consideration is converting to 2.4GHz if you are trying to convert both the transmitter and receiver.

Hello Again

First Thanks to all who posted helpfull information. Also my mistake, I should have mentioned that I was looking to see if it was both possible and at what cost to convert Futaba Air Frq. Receiver to Surface 75mHz range. I have a transmitter already BUT have several Surface ships that if the same Futaba Receiver was used; FPR127DF 75mHz any picked channell above 61 would be helpful to me.

I will try to contact the Pensacola shop to see.

Thanks, George
