While working away from home last year, I bought the above kit for something
to do in the hotel of an evening. It went together well, but although it
runs well in a straight line, it doesn't like to turn at all at speed. At
all speeds up to half throttle it turns very well, from half to 3/4
throttle, it turns as I would have expected at first, ie. a wide skidding
turn, but over 3/4 throttle it doesn't want to turn at all. At half rudder
it starts to turn with about 200' radius turn, any more rudder and the rear
end just skids round in front of the bow almost instantly, and then sits
cavitating til I back off the throttle and accelerate again. I have brought
the trim tab up about 10 degrees, moved everything as far back as it will go
and while there was a slight improvement, originally, there was no deviation
from dead straight at speed til it flipped, it still isn't right. Does it
need more trim up, or a bigger turn fin or what else am I doing wrong? Any
advice would be appreciated at this moment in time.
