Tower has quite a selection.

Those are the normal-sized units; It needs to be much smaller than that.
Haven't you ever seen the Berg receivers?

some of toesup's list are micro, but some aren't
I have found this site to have the micro GWS receivers in the 75mhz range (land use). however, all the micro receivers I have found in the 75mhz range are FM, no AM, so they won't work with the cheap pistol 2 channel transmitters.

i use the following one specifically in my SWM blueback sub, with little or no problems, it is easily 1/3 the size of the regular futaba 6 channel receiver, I also own a CC (formerly berg) 4 channel (for a plane), and this is larger than the berg, but not by much:

I certainly wish CC would sell their receivers on the 75mhz frequencies.

The robot stuff looks about right. I usualy just have the 2 servos to power.
I would be concerned about the range figures; I would probably be at the limit on that on big lakes.

Unfortunately, the only ones seem to be 2 channel units incorporated with an ESC on 27 MHz for the smaller ProBoat (LOSB1087) and AquaCraft (Mini Rio part # AQUM3507, AQUM3508, AQUM3509, & AQUM3510) models.
Another FM option is the Sombra Labs SL8 (http://www.sombralabs.com/products.php), but it's an 8 channel rx. I have a couple of them in subs and they work great.

Some at Tower are equal if not smaller than the Berg receivers.. which are also on the list.
