View Full Version : Spektrum Radios?

One of the employees at my LHS (their RC guru) said that Spektrum brand 2.4
gh radios shouldn't be used for boats. He went on to say that the signal
isn't reliable because it "reflects" off the water, adding that Futaba
radios don't have this problem because of their frequency hopping
technology.
I'm skeptical - is there any truth to this? I'd love to hear from those
with real world experience.

I can confirm this based on my own experience. I tried Spektrum and
kept getting glitches which caused my boats to go into failsafe.
I now run Futaba Fasst 2.4GHZ and I haven't had a single problem.

totally agree. I have seen many problems from spektrums in boats. I use
airtronics (sanwa) 2.4 and no problem at all. Rock solid. Best part is an
Airtronics 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver is only $149!!
