For breaking in a OS 32 heli engine, what airplane prop size should I
use to bench run ?
It will be used in a JR Venture.

Don't bother breaking an OS in on the bench.
Hover a couple of tanks through rich then gradually lean it off.

Even OS recommend running their new engines in this way :-)

I used an APC 10-6 on mine when i ran it on the bench. To me it's a lot less
trouble running it on the bench first. DOUG

Differing opinions again on this one, but I personally have always broken in an
engine whilst installed in the helicopter.
Remember you are also breaking in the helicopter itself (assuming it is new),
so you don't want to work any of it too hard until you have run a couple of
tanks and then checked everything for tightness etc.

By the time you have set it up on the bench, run it for xx number of hours then
re-installed it in the heli, you could have put in the same number of
hovering/gentle flying sessions and got some enjoyment out of it too.

Just keep it on the rich side for a few tankfuls (ie lots of smoke), vary the
engine revs during the run, and set the head speed ,and consequently the engine
speed, a bit lower than usual.
