ROFLOL!!!!!! he is right in the aspect that you shouldn't even atempt it
unless you are willing to have your money dissappear like a cow in a
twister.

Not a bad idea lots of fun but beware of the crashes lots of cash drain
think of simulator like real flight g2 and spend lots of time practicing
'cos the only cash drain is the initial outlay and the crashes are for free
but soon you'll be able to have fun

I've just bought a Walkera 4ch Dragonfly as my first ever RC anything. It came with a training kit and simulator but (a) the sim doesn't respond to my transmitter - (faulty cable?) so I can't learn to fly on the sim and (b) how the hell do you attach the training landing gear? It has 4 clips that look as if they're meant to clip onto the skids but they're at right angles to the skids whereas the training support thingos are at 45 degrees. I need to get this attached so that I don't keep tipping the thing on its side.

Also as I said I've not had any radio controlled model before and I'm confused about two toggle switches and a push button switch on the Walkera transmitter. They don't seem to do anything. What are they for?

Having great difficulty getting the thing "trimmed" too. I can't stop it tipping on its side with the lever in the neutral position no matter how much I trim it. I'll get there in the end.

The simulator that comes with it only works on Windows 9x, not on Win2k
or XP. I've never managed to get the cable to work on XP at all either.

Sorry, no idea there - I've never used training gear (bad idea though).

They have no function and are AFAIK not even connected.

If you mean that the heli tends to lean to the left on takeoff: that's
normal. Once you're off the ground it should level. Fair warning
there... as long as you are still in ground effect (say, lower than 2 or
3 feet above ground) you'll find the heli hard to control as the rotor
backlash will try and tip it any which way.

I've tried that but never got a signal. Would you mind posting how you got
it to work...? I'm sure it'd be helpful to a lot of people. :)

I would imagine you have the same kit I purchased with the Truflite 3D
simulator...

To get the Tx and cable to work, you have to take the crystal from the
back of the Tx..

Plug the cable into the pc and tx, load the program and wella... she
works!! You will find, for some reason.. you mite have to go into the
program twice for it too work!

cheers,

jad

Get yourself something like a 2400MA NICAD. Will work well.

The Walkera 4 I bought didn't come with the simulator software CD. Is
there someplace I can download it from? Walkera's web site, when it
works at all, is no help.
