Hello everyone..

I'm a new hover craft pilot here. I have a yellow Scamper-1.

It runs pretty well on land, but sinks fairly quickly on water because its skirts seems to trap water. But that's another story.

My duct fan stops working yesterday after couple continuous runs. The stock 45A ESC (handling 2-4S) normally runs very hot, even just after I hooked up the battery. Now it doesn't respond to my TX anymore.

I replaced it with a Eflite 40A ESC (the one that has heat sink on), but the duct fan still doesn't respond. It makes the peeping sound, however.

Does anyone have experience swapping ESC on a stock Scamper 1 to a better unit? If you do, please share some insight!

Thank a lot in advance!

Sincerely,
Den

Hello dendog220..

I'm using a Thunder Power TPE-40SGB4 ESC in my Scamper-1. It works fine!

The water problem:
I installed the K&S Carbon Extend Pipe set (No. 5119). See attachment.
The Answer from K&S: About your questions, when the air is out from hovercraft, the water should not come into hovercraft.
Because the air will block water.
Of cause, it will get wet a little.
So, Please trim your tx throttle lever and always come out some air.

If your ESC always beeps, i think there is a Problem with your Receiver.

HighTower01:

Thank you so much for your advice! I almost gave up waiting for advice on this board because the Scamper 1 doesn't seem very popular.

I hope that my motor is still good. I will go find a Thunder Power TPE-40SGB4 ESC for my boat, and this time, I will put sime heat shrink tubes around the bottom holes like they way you did to prevent the water from entering my boat~

Once again, thank you so much!

Sincerely,
Den
