I purchased one of these off ebay.

I was just wandering if its a decent unit or not now? The nice thing I
noticed about it was the long flight time. Up to something like 20 minutes.

Its a Hummingbird, basically a cheap rip off of the Ikarus Piccolo. Don't
expect 20 min flight using the standard batteries, more like 3 - 5 min. To
get the 20+ min duration you need special type of batteries and a charger to
charge them, which will set you back a lot of cash.

The only thing you need to check is the availability of spares, as they are
new on the market

Hey Malcom,

Check out what owners have to say about the Century AHummingbird on the
"Micro Elrectric Helicopters" forum on RR. Seems to be very well received
indeed.:-))

Also check the videos of the hummingbird flying on the Century web site:
www.centuryheli.com

The heli in question is NOT the Hummingbird. The Hummingbird has twin C/F
boom supports and a horizontal fin. The one pictured does not. It looks to
be the asian Freda.

P.S. the only relationship between the Picolo and the Hummingdird is the
fact that the Hummingbird and the Picolo both use a seperate micro electric
motor to drive the tail. I found my Hummingbird to not only cost a lot less
but to be more stable in flight then my Picolo.

Phil

Phil,

I stand corrected, its the Asian rip off of the Hummingbird :) - Didn't spot
the lack of boom support !

Malcolm

Ps glad to hear you find the Hummingbird better than the Piccolo - I might
just be tempted :)
