Why not just keep the stickies out? Keep this area clean, and uncluttered. Look at some of the stickies. They get old pretty fast. First hand info is way better.

Good point - but basic's do not change - you tend to run into the problems that you are talking about when you bring specific makes and models into it - like the EHBG.
I had had quite a few years flying fixed wing when I decided to get a heli - and the first heli I baught was a cheaper copy of the model the best flyer at the club used - A complex collective pitch model - when I got it home I tried it out just to see if it worked and found it would not do what I was telling it - I thought I had baught a piece of junk - when I took it down to the club the guy above checked it over did not really mess with anything spun it up and it flew like his - I suddenly realised it was not the heli it was the knob on the end of it :D .
Now I consider myself fortunate I had a good mentor without him I may well have learned how to fly a helicopter but also like many others I would have probably tinkered and tinkered with the heli blaming it for the problems and then given up.
So from my perspective guidance is very important and best place for a good guide is as a sticky that will not be 3 pages along within a few days or filled with trivia.

Man, that's the best I've heard that said yet. Ought to be a sticky of its own :D.
Q: why doesn't my heli fly as well as others?
A: see above.

If there was only one thing to sticky in a Beginners forum the EHBG would be it. It might not have 'your' model in it, but it has a lot of good, basic stuff.
No beginner posting a question should feel bad about being referred to the EHBG. I missed it when I first started and when someone pointed it out to me, it saved a lot of typing! :D
Sticky the EHBG!!!
