At the risk of making a donkey out of myself would this be any good to use as a watt meter for my rc electric motors

if not can you recommend any good links or meters which would do the job, not looking to break the bank and 50amp max should do fine

Volts X amps=watts. 50 amps X 7.2 volts ( 6 cell ) =360 watts. 360 is way more than the 200 that meter is rated for. This would be useful for low power parky systems but not much good for the higher powered sport planes. If you can find one in your area the Astro Whatmeter is worth every cent.

I do not see the current shunt in the photo. Without it the meter is a just another fancy paper weight.
