Hey,
I'm building a small rc hovercraft and I'm having some problems finding a good material to use for the skirt. I checked some threads and looked around, but couldn't really find anything. I've been using thick bag plastic but the problem is that as soon as the skirt gets a little wet or damp it creates so much traction and sticks so much that the hovercraft doesn't move at all. Can you help? Thanks! :)

Well trash bags work very well, but they do have issues when there wet (something to do with surface tension of water I guess). I you are willing to spend a little cash ripstop nylon (Kite fabric) is your best bet.

ahhh great, yeah because I was using trash bags but I had the wetness problem. I don't need my hovercraft to go on water (no idea if it'll be too heavy) but I definatly want to be able to use it on snow, wet roads and the like. I'll get some of the ripstop nylon then, it doesn't look like it's that expensive. Thanks a ton!

Have any of you tried WD40 or a silicon spray lube on the plastic to get it to not stick to water?
