Well I figured I'd throw this idea out there.
I know there are a bunch of you folks who frequent this section of the forum, thought maybe it would be cool to have a little event dedicated to all things RC Hovercraft!

If you want to list your locations (I'm in Upstate NY)
maybe theres a central location where we could hold something?
We could also hold a rally at one of the airplane events, I know there are a bunch coming up this year.

Just let me know if anyone is interested in the idea.
We could have races, prizes, you name it, it could be alot of fun.

I would have loved to have gone to that one.
There must be some people in the states interested in a small event for these vehicles.

Doesn't look like to many people interested in an event that's really to bad. Maybe we will have to have our own little event in upstate somewhere. What half way between me and you, Syracuse?

I'd be down for that.
I know another guy around here who might be interested too.

I'm in and i have built crafts for two of my friends that would probably join in. Do you have many hovercrafts? or just the axon which is very cool!

most of my hovercraft experiments are skirtless.
I'm not into the whole bag thing.
But I could bring all of my "experiments"

My friends and i have been contemplating using solid skirts on our craft but can't decide what to use for the skirt. Could you share a pic or two of you ideas.

best thing to use is polyethylene foam. its somewhat hard to find, but you can find it online, rather expensive though. If you are luckily you can find an excercise mat at discount stores thats made out of the stuff.

I have a whole bunch of foam that sort of flexible like EPP but it is very porous i'll attach a pic so you can see.

yes thats polethylne foam, whats the thickness. I use .75 on the axon racers.

I have all different thickness from 2" thick down. I also have sheets that measure 4'x8'x2" thick. The big stuff has one smooth side and one rough. I assume that your axon skids are premade in that shape. is the suface texture smooth or rough? I want to try a solid skirt on one of mine with this stuff the hard part is cutting it to shape.
