I have to admit the ship stopped awfully quickly for that mine. I don't think that is realistic but I could be wrong. Gotta love the German ship exploding though.
I have no idea where to find this on DVD. I'm thinking of downloading it with torrents but don't feel too good about it.
What do you guys think?

Perhaps I should've said "WW1 naval combat movie" in the subject line?

I've come across the DVD recently here but put it down since its only in Russian. I may just have to drop 10rmb to check it out, even if only for the eye candy. :p
This CCTV 9 (China's English channel) review offers more insight about the movie along with better footage of what we like to see.. ships!

:o :o :o I was only referring to the scenes with the ships! :D ;)
I picked up the DVD last night & will give you my quick review today.
Regarding CCTV 9, yes its China's English-only channel for news, commentary & lifestyle topics. I rarely watch it myself since I think they adopted the very worst of CNN, Fox News & DW-TV.

Yeah I sort of got that vibe from just the clip included in this thread. Substanceless programming.
As for the eye tacos, my brother is working on a T-shirt design that has a drawing of a hard-shell taco in the middle and a circle of text around it and the text reads: "TIME TACOS: THE ONLY WAY MEXICANS KNOW HOW TO TIME TRAVEL." He says his hispanic friend approves so its all good. He based it on the tacos made by a place near where he lives in Chicago. They really will allow you to see through time.

Unless your into period romance dramas don't waste your money on this. There's only 15 minutes of naval action at the beginning & then its all downhill from there.
Gotta love how well built those early Russian torpedo boats were built - this one took multiple hits & came out unscathed except for some flash burns, soot & bloody decks!
The "eye tacos" aren't bad, though... :D

all else fails try good old Horatio Hornblower (either the new with Ion Griffud (sp?) or the old with Gregory Peck), they are always good for some nice action.

Except for Night Watch and Day Watch. Btw the books those were based on are excellent. Don't let the movies fool you.

Try watching the movie in Chinese like I had to do without subtitles & you'll understand why I said it was downhill after the naval engagement. My wife seems to have enjoyed, though, since she's one for these historical dramas.
