Those are some very nice photos to drool over. Thanks a bunch! :D
I've got cabin fever myself in my mother-in-law's 17th floor apartment. Am kicking myself for not having brought something to work on.

Pops,
You didn't put the "Ringer" on the barge...
Should be in your trunk shouldn't it...? :p

Holly Cow. Such detail, the party tray on the launch made me hungry. :) I love the Atlantic tug, but everything else was pretty amazing too. Everytime I think that craftsmanship is dying out, something like this reminds me its still alive and well. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Fantastic Photos. I'm going to have to make it to Cabin Fever one of these years. Could you send me a copy of photo 202 ? Did the fellow have any of the items pictured? I have a photocopy of an article on building the "Polly Wog", but did not know it was produced as a kit.
Regards,
Gerald

Illustrates the wide range of "patience" that people have for projects. People see some of my projects, and say they'd never have the patience to do that kind of work. To which I reply that I'd never have the patience to sit in a deer blind/ice fishing hut/football stadium seat etc., things which thay may find quite pleasant...
But I could never work on a project for more than say 6 months or maybe a year... on to something different! I can't even do the same type of boat twice. Then I look at that Doosie... I can imagine HOW it was done (everything from pattern making to casting to machining and metal forming); I can't imagine doing it that well... and I can't imagine devoting the YEARS required to the research and fab work, yikes!

Ahemm...Yes Umi, the Ringer is still in the trunk, for two reasons. One I think ONLY you know about. :) And the other is that I saw some work by a gentleman that also bought one of the ringers and he repainted his to look like this:
It left me speechless........
