Not sure what the easiest way to re-attach this wire would be. I would guess that black mess is really a female connector that the two wires were originally soldered to. Do I just heat up the hole and try and clean it out , then stick red wire in? Not sure what's best.

BTW, this is a PZ Vapor brick and the red wire is supposed to go to the LEFT of the black wire in the picture.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Also, could not figure out how to put my picture in the post for the life of me, so I have left it as an attachment. (I even went to vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachment s) to see how and don't see the "arrow" they mention. Now you know why I need help with the big stuff... can't even figure out the little stuff.

The black mess is liquid electrical tape. It can be gently removed by scraping, tugging it off.

Once all removed you will be able to see the solder joints.

On the red wire you will be soldering back, tin the end 1/8" is all you need exposed of bare wire. Resolder to proper connection point.

Reapply liquid electrical tape or a pliable type material and you'll be back in the air.

Thanks so much!

I would have never figured that out in a million years. Didn't know "liquid electrical tape" even existed. I'll see if I can hunt some down.

Thanks again.
