Hi, does anyone have or know of a circuit or device that can drive 2 servos set in Pan / Tilt configuration from received GPS data sent over a radio link such that an antenna mounted on the pan / tilt will point to and track the GPS flying along in an RC aeroplane.

cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,

I built something like that for my final year project in 2007, I have attached the thesis document, it worked pretty well, using GPS for location and barometric pressure for height, if you need any more info let me know.

Thank you Joel. That was very well done. I'm looking to do something similar.

Hey Joel,

Excellent project. Can you or will you be able to release any code files? Especially interested in the Ground station.

Hi Vector, thanks for replying with such useful information. I will carefully read through and see how I can construct something similar.

Thanks,

Here are the sources,
let me know if you do anything cool with it.
I take no responsibility for any result of using this software, including UAV's plowing into porsche dealerships etc.

Have Fun

Joel
