Hey Don, I'm looking for a recommendation on which combination of your components I should use on my HL F/A-18. I plan on using 3S 2200 25C Xcite batteries with the stock fan and I fly from an elevation of @5700'. I'm looking for "afterburner" type performance and I like to fly WOT most of the time. Thanks in advance.

Normally I would recommend the Wicked 4800 with the EDO option. As you are at a higher elevation, I bet you can go the Wicked 5400 instead.

DON!!!! You're out of stock on the 5400!!! Any idea on when you might get some more in?? I've been waiting all month for payday, and now..... :(
Also, I cant find any numbers for this motor with the stock fan on your site (maybe I overlooked them?) and I'm wondering if a 40A controller is enough. Can you put my mind at ease here?
Thanks again. :D

I still should have a few extra in stock as I ususally have a few in reserve. I need to look up the numbers when I get home.

Let me know, I kinda had my heart set on this motor!!! I'm sure a 40A will be enough, I guess what I'm really curious about is if the stock speed control will be good with your motor. I don't have enough funds to buy the batts., motor and speed control all at the same time, but I'd still like to fly the plane with the new batts and motor until I can get the speed control next month.

The amps will be 45 when settled. Now I remember why I removed the data and do not recommend it as the rpm increse over the 4800 KV is only about 2000 rpm but the amps jump about 8 amps that extra 2000 rpm, so the KV is a bit too high for the fan, but that is at 700ft elevation, you are much higher so things may be much different. I added the 5400s back to stock, and if after you get it you find you want to swap the 4800 KV then that will not be a problem.

OK, I'll check it out and let you know if it works out for me. I placed my order just a few minutes ago, thanks.
