Please judge ONLY by accuracy of simulation/physics, not by landscape/graphics.

Thank You.

I seriously doubt there is anyone on here who has tried all of those - so I'm not sure about if the results are really going to be meaningful. I have tried Realflight, Clearview, and "Other" :)

 I have tried Realflight G3.5, Realflight G4, realflight G4.5, Pheniox, FSOne, aerofly, aerofly D and FMS.. The best one is Realflight G4.5 :)

Thanks,
Devin

Agreed. Most people will have only really tried one or two of the non-free sims, and will just vote for the one they have, so the poll question could probably more accurately have been "Which sim do you use for heli 3D".

Personally, I have used FMS, Clearview, RealFlight 3.5 and Phoenix, and find Phoenix to be the definite best of those sims for helis.

I've used Realflight, FMS and clearview (free trial). And as above I still like Phoenix the most.

FS One with Helicopter update and 1.1 update has actually pretty decent helies. I have always been a fan of FS One fixed wing modeling, but didn't rate its helies high. Now, FS One has not only the best airplane flight model but also one of the best helies too!

This is my favorite.

Very realistic single-channel sim (http://www.addictinggames.com/helicopter.html)

Phoenix

have used and owned:
RF4.0 (have also tried 4.5 do not like the helis feel too easy and tails blow out way too easy) Clearview (flies barely anything like a real RC heli)
tried FS1 tossed it.. also tried reflex at a friends home and hated it as well..
tried that free helisim as well cant remeber the name and it was just terrible.

Pheonix just rocks.. great physics.. free updates.. better helis included..and don't have to use the garbage controller.. and works great on a an average laptop so I can sim at lunch at work =P

Why did you have to bring that maddening thing up!!?? I have already wasted too much time on it and now I find I'm rusty and have to practice again... Aarghhhhh. (Can anyone beat my score?) And disregard the item you see in another tab, "Poll - Something to think about.....Will if Fl..." I definitely don't want that maddening thing brought up again!! Yikes, I just noticed someone on utube with over 6800 points. :p

Oh, yes. Back on topic. Personally, I've put some serious time into RFGII, AFPD, Reflex XTR, and FMS. Of those, AFPD is my favorite. All are good, (FMS is pretty basic.) I'd like to try RFG4.5, it looks great. I've tried Phoenix in the hobby shop, definitely feels very good.

I have afpd and it seems real enogh to be a good trainning aid all the helis are different in flight . after much work i can invert some of them. I hear g4.5 is great , but i would just save the extra cash and get afpd. Just my opinion...

Hi All, you convinced me on getting the Phoenix. Does anyone recommend a reputable e-store here in the US. I deal w/ RC Super Sales but I see they don't carry it. I live in the Florida Keys and there aren't any decent hobby shops around here. Also I'm note real computer literate but by wife is pretty good. Is it real complicated to set up? I'll be building a kit Swift 16 starting soon and hope the sim will be similar?
Thanks for any help!
