I'm looking to buy a flight simulator but I do not want to spend $150+ on one. Are there any flight simulators out there similar to Realflight G3 and G4 but cheaper? Thanks........

You could try clearview. Free to try, 40$ to buy.

Apart from that there's aerofly which is 150, phoenix rc which is pretty advanced and costs 129, and otherwise there's the cheaper ones like esky for 20 or so, and FMS which is very basic but free.
Depends on your stance. Do you want a nice sim for fun, or do you want a sim just to learn and rather spend the money on real planes?

I debated between the two - RealFlight or Clearview - and opted for Clearview - it is very close - it may not have all theplanes that RealFlight has (then again those are expansion packs which means extra dough) but it is still close enough. Download the demo and give it a whirl.

I would get realflight here on RCG Used, I got G4 for $135.00 shiped, mint condition. And love it, free upgrade to 4.5

Phoenix, better than Realflight (I think)... and cheaper!

I have both Realflight 4.5 and Phoenix. Phoenix is far superior to Realflight. In addition, the company updates the software almost every week for free. Also all the Phoenix models are recent. Realflight seems like it has ancient stuff.
As far as training options, they are close. Both have all the acrobatics, hover modes etc. Realflight has the hover orientation trainer which I like, so I think Realflight gas a slight edge in training.
I found wind to be much more realistic in Phoenix.

Thanks for the replies.
For now I guess I will just stick with the free FMS sim. I downloaded a demo of the Clearview sim, but it didn't impress me much. I don't have much money, so FMS will be good enough until I can afford a better one.

FS One I think is superior to others in reality, but lacks in the amount of planes/helis. I have it and it is great, plus its only $100 new with controller (I got free shipping on ebay) and $80 without controller but you can use your own.

Be sure everything is plugged in ALL THE WAY. Even at the little box thing that is in between the controller and USB. Also, try restarting you computer.
Hope this helps.
