:censored: The motor on my Jarmac 2022 just went up in a puff of smoke, was only putting a bevel on a piece of 1/4" ply and up came a puff of smoke from my motor a sure sign that it is terminal.
Jarmac wants $111.00 for a new motor, does anyone know what I can use as a substitute for the stock motor, or do I have to bite the bullet and pay for a Jarmac motor?
I haven't taken it apart yet to see if I can just get an armature or if it is just toast, maybe I will get lucky and find just some burnt wires, not bloody likely as this motor smelled like it bit the dust.

I burnt my motor going thru 3/4" black walnut....
I want to say I paid less then that, but got the whole she-bang. New motor, speed drive control, etc....
If I recal it is a 90Volt DC motor. AC into a rectifier etc...For the money It was as cheap to buy the replacement parts as to get a whole new saw. I will look for the info.

Thanks, I appreciate that, mine has the speed control, is that where the rectifier is located?

Yep...knob pulls off..remove some screws and the cover where the board lives drops off. Write down where all the wires land at. Check out the pieces to see if anything shorted out.

Been to long and I can't find anything in my mess of paper work.
Try Armstrong (http://www.armstrongtool.com/ModelerProductsPage2.htm) As they sell. You may need to call to get prices and availability.
I'm sure you've seen Jarmac's site (http://jarmactools.com/_wsn/page2.html)
I really want to say I bought from Armstrong...

My Jarmac uses an older style sewing machine motor.
I would think at least twice before going over to the wifes sewing machine for parts though.

Tried to phone both Armstrong and Jarmac yesterday but they both must have been closed, will try again Monday.
Thanks again for your reply.
