Im considering building the Bridi Stick. You can see it here: http://www.bridiairplanes.com/hangar/bridistick.html

I have never seen this one fly and I was wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on this. I would be using A123 cells, Im thinking that a 10-12 cell motor would be fine. Suggestions please?

Thanks.

I converted a Midwest Cap232 80" ws and its weight was close to 9 lbs airframe only. My power setup was a Hacker A60 20s, 12s2p A123 and Electrify ss-60hd. The AUW was 16lbs give or take. The prop was a APC 20x15e at 5600 rpm and 2kW input power.
I think this Stick will fly with same setup.

My Sr. Telemaster flies with an Eflite power 60 and 8S A123. It's about 10 lbs, and it leaps off the ground.

IMHO, if you're going to build, why not build something nice-looking. Leave the "ugly" stuff to the ARF :D.

Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder..., but ugly is right to the bone.

So, can you tell me what may have the "stick" excellent flying characteristics and still come in at 12 lbs. or less? I have no experience in the larger planes, but I do know that its hard to find a better flying plane than an Ultra Stick or similar craft.

Now here's what happens when that philosophy is carried to its absurd conclusion:

A 65" Decathalon wing, a 48" piece of alumnum square stock, some 1/4" balsa, a 50mm motor and....

Hey, that is an awesome stick. I have the same wing sitting in my cellar... neat idea.

This is awesome!!! I didn't know Bridi had a website. I grew up flying the Aircruiser25 and must have built about 10 or so. I also thought they stopped building kits, great to know they're still around.
