I have one of your 4800kv motors and im curious how hard i can push it with a 3s battery. At what amp load will this motor burn up on me? On your website i see the highest amp load listed for a fan is 44amps with a 4s battery, is that about the limit for this motor?
Im getting ready to build a plane with a Himax 69mm fan unit and i am tempted to try the wicked 4800kv in it. I have a motor for it allready but if your motor can handle the high amp load i might give it a try.

That is about the limit of the motor, above that it is unknown territory.

I run a couple of the Himax DF69/H2025-3600 power sets including the MPX Twister (that's the stock powerset for this model) and an A7 Corsair. The fan is a copy of the Wemo Mini 480 fan; it's identical for all practical purposes. The stock motor is 3600kv. With a strong 3s battery, my planes pull 34-36A, 400+W with that setup. I understand that using a faster motor around 4000kv, the amp draw goes to 40+ and well into the 400W range. I would be careful in running a 4800kv motor in that fan on 3S; current draw could very well be into the 50A range.

Actually i tested the 4800kv on the stock GWS 75mm fan. It pulled about 48amps if i remember before i shut it down at around 80% throttle. I recieved my Himax motor and 69mm fan last night. The 3600kv Himax motor only pulled 29amps with no inlet ring attached. It needed balanced badly so im sure it will pump out a little more power after putting the inlet ring on and balanceing the fan. The fan balanced perfect but the nose hub was way off center. I might try the 4800kv on this fan to see what the results will be. I am getting 830 grams thrust right now from the GWS 75mm fan with a 4500kv motor in it at 45amps. Unless i can get 800+ grams thrust at less amps than that with the Himax fan i will leave the GWS fan and 4500kv motor in the plane.
