I was planning on painting the canopy of my new Venture 30. Would it be a
good idea to give it a coat of clear polyurethane over the paint? I think
that it was polyurethane that can take the abuse of the glow fuel.

Am I right and/or does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Thanks,
Kevin

I have used polyurethane with some success, although over time it does seem to
get a bit dirty, however much I try to clean it.
Maybe Flexicote or similar would be a better option?

Take the painted canopy to a car bodyshop and ask if they'll get the painter
to give it a couple of coats of clear lacquer. About as resliant a finish as
you could wish for and fuel proof to boot.

Most will charge less than the cost of the material and you'll have an A1
job to show off.
