View Full Version : Help! Shipping damage?

How does HL handle items damaged in shipping? I received a Yak 55 today that has been through a pretty rough trip. The large cardboard packing box let on to some minor shipping damage(appeared to be folded, but not near what was to be found on the inside.

Im attaching some pictures here and if/when HL replies to my message regarding this, I'll link them to this thread.

Forgive me if this is considered "acceptable" shipping damage but this is a Christmas present and is missing that "new" charm IMO...

Geez, I'd have thought that between this thread and 2 messages to the support department I would have seen more then just an auto reply by now...

IF THE PACKAGE IS DAMAGED WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT
If a package that has obviously been damaged during shipment is delivered to your door, SIGN for it and note above your signature the word "damaged" (or "open" if the box was broken open), and request that the delivering company make an inspection. If the damage during shipment was concealed, please notify the delivering carrier and call Hobby Lobby's claim department when you discover the damage. You must keep the damaged carton until the shipment has been inspected by the carrier. Do not return the merchandise yourself. Hobby Lobby will process a claim and tell you exactly what to do next.

Still no reply in any way from HL.. Tomorrow I'll have the UPS driver log the damage into his computer and I'll call HL... maybe then I'll get some type of response...

How about the Claim Department #?? I cannot find that on the site.

What # to call tho?? There is no "claim department" phone number listed on the site.

Smallish and confusing....

The website says to contact them (HL) about this so I send 2 messages via the site customer support thing and post a thread in their vendor section here.
I also called last night, just to have the guy tell me that I need to get a RMA for it and send it back in. Thats cool and all and would be great if I could still get the return in time for christmas, but thats not likely unless HL would ship the replacement priority or something.

You know, the only reply I have gotten has been from you, pda4you and you dont even have my money.
So far, thanks HL.... your shipping is fast and prices are good but your communication skills are leaving me in the dark.

I just returned a damaged plane to H-L. All you have to do is to fill in this page

http://www.hobby-lobby.com/support/returns.htm

and they will send you an RMA number and a USPS shipping label via e-mail.

Thats cool, I just did the same. Im not so much aggrivated with HL over this except for their lack of response to anything I've sent them. In light of that, who knows when I'll get a RMA response.
Whats got me frustrated is I do not have time to reorder this plane to get it here in time for Christmas unless I pay for express shipping.. otherwise, Im simply out a present under the tree.

Come on HL, is it to much trouble to ask for even a simple reply, thats NOT automatically generated?

Thank you Jason. Let me know if you need anything from me outside of that PM info you requested. Even if I need to put a little more down for the priority shipping, I will. Not looking to create issues, just to get some resolution.

Jason, I have tried filling out the customer survey and sending it in but even with every box checked I keep getting a message that I must select one of the options ? even tho they were all checked?

Plus, who is Rita? I never heard anything from her on this whole deal..

I'm not sure about the survey thing. We'll check on it. Freda is our returns rep. She received all your information fine, but I told her not to do anything with it because I was taking care of you. I've got your plane going out 2nd day air and it's in the pile waiting for UPS to pick it up. It should be there Tuesday next week.
