When everyone gets excited and you try to show off by taking your 2-cell lipo out and replacing it with a 3-cell so you can get your car to 60mph..

...this is what happens.

Ball differential, but It had balls sandwiched between 2 plates that when melted looked like that.

ITS a diff, but I think the tittle was ment that if he had a SLIPPER clutch it mite of avoided this. TIttle should of be WHY you needs a slipper.

When I bought my Dark Impact kit, I had to decide if I wanted to get a $30 slipper clutch upgrade for it or just accept that I'd eventually break the rear diff and have to replace it at $6 a pop.

Thankfully, it only happens on 3s lipos. Six cell nickel batteries and two cell lipos don't seem to have any effect, and even 3s lipos seem to have a hard time hurting the differential when I lock it.

This whole breakage has been a good learning experience for me.. I learned that I've been keeping the ball differentials in all of my cars way too loose. Hopefully this won't happen too often in the future.

i am keeping a closer look on mine after upgrading to BRUSHLESS and seing your picture, I dont want to destroy my vintage TRX and not be able to fix do to lack of parts. THANKS wasnt trying to offend no one in my earlier comments, was just surprise to see that that can happen just by using BRUSHLESS over brushed.
