Haven't built a rubber job since I was a kid......although still called a big kid quite often
Test flew this in our school gym and too big for there but fly's very well. Can't wait for a warm spring day :D
This would be a real good flyer if scratched using much lighter balsa.

These f/f rubber jobs provide much more fun per ounce than anything else in the aeromodelling world...I wish more modellers to realize that....

I couldn't agree more. A couple of winters ago we had a small "New Year's Challenge" in our indoor RC group (suggested by me). The idea was to take a Guillows Strato Streak, make any mods you liked but you had to use the kits wood and prop and see what kind of times you could get in the gym. We had 4 or 5 R/C'ers giving it a try and there was a group down in London Ontario that had even more give it a try. Lots of fun.
After much tweaking and fussing I got mine (picture attached) up to around 50 seconds in the gym and will fly longer outside with a change in rubber and a few tweaks of the trim. Still have it and I had it out at the local school yard with my grand daughter this past summer and I don't know who got the biggest kick out of flying it - me or her! I will have to build something more like the Sig Cub to replace it.

A couple of years back, I taught a weeklong class in building rubber powered airplanes to a group of kids for our local recreation department. They and their parents were amazed at how well the models flew. The kids were all very enthusiastic at the end and no one complained about how simple and low tech the models were.
