Looking for plans for a USN Destroyer, Gearing Class, DD 862. This was my home for 4 years. Would like a figeglass hull but would try to build scracht.
Looked in several webs and no Gearing class DD

Would like to build a model and display for about 15 crew members still kicking.

sirmar i don't think carries the Gearings... i know Scale Shipyard (http://scaleshipyard.com/Catalog%20Pages/destroyers.html) does... they have 1/96, 1/72 and 1/48 scale hulls for the Gearings... they are kinda slow

DD-862...The ol Vogelgesang, I think she was sunk as a target last year
Scale Shipyard makes the hull and fittings for this ship in 1:96 scale ( 48" ) mainly.
We also offer this hull in 1:48 scale with several weapons and fitting and also in 1:72 scale but fery few items to go with this scale yet.
You can contact me for further info at scalshpyrd@aol.com

Thank You Predreadnut. Yes I have studied this subject since I was 8 years old and saw the movie Sink the Bismarck.
I was also a Naval Architect Tech in the battleship program through the 1980's, I started SSY on April 7th 1979 ( Annivesary of the Yamato Sinking) Geeze...30 years of this come April.
I checked and found I do not have any 1:96 Gearings in stock
