View Full Version : RC10 diff - stealth trans problem

I have been running my RC10GT Factory Team for about a year now
without any problems. Then, last week the right rear wheel began to
spin a lot slower than the left rear wheel. I figured the diff needed
to be cleaned and re-lubed, so I did this exactly as per the
instructions. This did not cure the problem even after trying
different settings with the diff adjustment. I suspect the problem
lies in the thrust spring (like maybe it sticking in the outdrive),
but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem, and if anyone
knew how to fix it. Thanks for the help everyone!

First thing to check is the rear wheel bearings.
Pop out the dog bones or CVDs and rotate the wheel (still on the axels).
they must BOTH spin freely.

You sure it's not just a gummed up wheel hub-bearing on the right side ?
Take the drive shafts out and see if the wheel spinds easily .. ;)

what happens if you try turning one wheel. Does the other one spin freely in
the opposite direction?
I know all my cars have doe this before, but it's never been the diff. It
was always a bit of hair or foilage that got wrapped around an axle thus
binding one of the wheels.
