AMA Plans Service has the plan as does Bill Northrop's plans. And Klarich custom kits and Bob Holman plans have short kits available in various sizes.

Strato streak would be a great choice for 1/2A I think and different too. I have it as JPG at 600KB and I think it could be blown up to what ever size you want from that even printed as an A3 then blown up using a photocopier.
Drop me a PM if you would like it. The plan is for a 40 inch 220 sq in wing so I think I would blow it up to around 300 to 350 sq in for 1/2A. You would see it better and it would fly better too being larger. 6 minute run will still get you way up there at this size and weight.

Hi,
Several years ago I downloaded the Strato streak from 'the plans page'. I was disapointed with the resolution so I redrew the plan in cad. The enclosed PDF file is not full size, it is on 8-1/2 x 11" but you should be able to read everything.

rchopper56 ,thanks for your work on this.
Has any of the other plans had the conversion for r/c ie the rudder hinge line?

There was a full construction article with plan by the late great Jim Reynolds published in Model Builder Magazine.
My dad timed his winning flight at Chicopee in 86.

Also, in Italy, Cesare di Roberto (or Roberto di Cesare- I can't remember) reported on his 1/2A texaco version somewhere; I just can't locate it.

I have the Foxaco kit from Holman and it is excellent. I would, however, use a more conventional wing saddle.

YES. I have a freeflight one built years ago 'for fun' with a DC Merlin in it, and used a 1/16th balsa sheet wing saddle from front of pylon to rear about 2in wide. Far better than the original way.

Oops! I just realized that it was the Interceptor article by Reynolds that I was thinking about.

Will keep looking for the Italian article on the Stratostreak

FWIW I built my Strato-Streak about 10 years ago off the copy of the original 1941 plan in a magazine I bought in 1979 called AIR TRAILS CLASSIC FLYING MODELS.
The plan is on page 28 and is as put on by AllanK1 on page 3 here.
From memory the plan in the magazine is either 1/4 or 1/5th size, and I simple scaled it up as needed to correct full size (40.5in) direct to wood.....balsa of course.
It was originally in AIR TRAILS magazine in December 1941.

I built it very light for freeflight with a DC Merlin .75cc diesel up front.
It's not flown for a few years but did fly okay as a 'for fun flier'.

3810, I just have an A4 size scan of the plans which I made when I built my model. :(
Since the quality is quite good, I may re-scan the plans and send it to you, if this may help.
