I am looking for a way to limit the air into the retract unit to keep the gear from slamming into the wing skin on retraction. I have a Robart system on a Spring Air clone setup. The system works fine except for the SLAM when the gear goes UP. Can't take that too many times without skin failure. Any idea on a simple air line restrictor?
The Robart valve only works on the "exhaust" of the cylinder air, so I cannot use the valve to adjust the spring air clones since there is only one line on them. They make some for spring air types, but they don't explain anything for slow action. I may have to call them to see if they take that into account. But, I'd like to keep the setup I have since it's installed and paid for.
I have read of using a wheel collar, but that sounds somewhat "iffy." Maybe that would work. Anyone know if it's a good way to go?
Thanks, LBJ
