After seeing a pic of a mess of radios on another thread here...I beg to ask this question. Those of us that have acquired radios that will never be used again...or in my case never were used to start with...what can we do with them? Can they be recycled like phones? Are they worth anything?

If this has been brought up before...which it probably has...I apologize. :p

If they are working radios sell them. If you aren't worried about getting some cash out of them donate them to your club to get Newbies started, they will need gear. The new guy gets in a little more economically. It will also bring in a little operating cash for the club.

Our club has a flea market sale for unused R/C stuff during our picnic in August. Our opportunity to clean out the basement.

The Milwaukee Association of R/C Clubs holds a swap meet and auction (mostly aircraft stuff but a few boat and car items)in January every year in Waukesha. They move allot of used gear. If you are not the only one in the area with this problem maybe you can get the local zoomies and car guys to go in and have a R/C swap. All you need is a place (school gym, church hall).

Local tech schools with robotics programs? Of course, they'd probably prefer your 14 function radios...

Or you could just build more boats and put them to use! I would say if it’s not about the money or even if it is make sure they make it to a place where they will get as much use as possible, R/C in general is a great thing to share.

Sell them especially if they are 4 channels or more and are 75 MHZ. Radios like that are not easy to come by. There are lots of boat modelers who could use a multi-channel radio on a surface frequency

I can vouch for that. I'll take a couple off your hands if you're interested in selling them! ;)

And if you really get desperate, you could always just give them to me.

don't think that's gonna work, but hey, it's worth a shot...

The radios I'm looking to dump are the cheap 2 channel Aquacraft pistol grip and Futaba Attack 2 stick type. I don't see a need for that are just taking up space. My unused 4 and 6 channel radios I plan to keep around for a bit longer.

Donate them to a local Scout Group and help them build boats for them.

make a custom rc project - get an old computer and fish out motors, gears, pulleys, etc. from the cd-rom or vcr. see that's what i am making lol :) http://jaycarnley.com/images/ProjectX%20DC%20Motors%20VCR.JPG http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa36/Stevelum_2007/P1010084-1.jpg (http://rcgearing.com)
