Can anyone sugest me some 5mm shaft pinions that have the correct gear pitch (i forgot what pitch it is .3 or somthing?) other then the steel rhino gears. I want to get away from those steel ones they are noisy and chew up main gears way to fast.
Im not sure what will fit it and mesh correctly that isnt the hard steel type?
Anyone have any ideas would be great.

Do you mean Eco 8? If you are chewing up main gears you got the mesh too tight. I have never had that problem in a year and a half . Jim

Yep way to tight. Or your start up speed is to fast. Mine would strip the main gears till I figured out the ESC I had before did not have a soft start in the programming. Got a different ESC and then no more porblems..
I have I think 5 pinions still for sale..

I usually loosen the motor screws, and push the motor/pinion into the main gear. I then run a piece of paper through the gears, and push the motor in and tighten the screws. This gives a good fit while guaranteeing enough free space...............

Try using a piece of the plastic that the parts come in. It worked great for setting the gear lash clearance..Once you know what it looks like you should be able to do it by eye. Just be sure and rotate the main gear he FULL 180 degrees, just in case there is a high spot on the main gear.

Good point Spidey. I have had a high spot on one now that I remember. Anyway, after a while you can set it by feel. I never had much luck with the paper method. Jim
