Just maiden it yesterday it. Still got alot of tweaking need to be done...especially fixing the tail authority.
Thanks to "Adrianli" for the photos. He is using some Nokia cellphone camera and thus, picture quality not that great.

Awesome.
So how much modification was involved?
How does it fly? (or how are you expecting it to handle?)
What ramifications does the 5 blade head have in general over the 2. And how are you dealing with no flybar?

So you were able to fix all the problems you posted in the other thread. My five blade head is due in tomorrow. My MD500D size fuse arrived today. It's beautifully done in San Diego County Sheriff's livery. :)

Looks like a lot of gyros on there. Can't tell what type of stabilization he is using from the pictures...

So far I only fix the problem of swash plate follower blocking the linkage. The solution is to flip the swash plate follower 180Degree
The linkages ball STILL feels like going to pop out anytime. I can't change it to TRex450 or Raptor because the screw for mounting the balls is like M2 size. TRex450/Raptor is using M1.5 (If I'm not wrong).
I too going to put this heli in a MD500D. It is 2nd hand fuselage from one of the fly buddies.
Tail suffers from weak authority due to 5 bladed drag. I am going to replace it to Raptor 30 or 50 tail blades and see how but I do not have spare for it. This Saturday I will go down to LHS to get some tail blades.
Oh... I wanted to make it to spin CCW for the main rotor...but the damn One-Way Bearing for HDX500SAS is too difficult to take out.
As for the gyros,
The gyros are:
1x Futaba GY401 for tail
2x GWS PG-03 for the cyclics.

Aren't you the guy that did the 4 blade tail? Maybe it will help the authority on there? Sure would look cool.

:) Yup. Me with the 4 bladed cascade tail.
I going to start with 2 bladed...but bigger or/and longer tail blades first. If not good, I go for cascade tail.

Would you please post a picture showing the SP follower installed as you describe it here. Many thanks.

For the swash plate follower, you just take it out, flip it 180Degree, flip the linkage and that is all. I try to post some picture when possible.
Update:
Today i manage to find a compatible replacement of the linkage ball. The TRex600 linkage ball (with M3 thread) can replace it. So, I got it from LHS.
I manage to replace some of the linkage ball for the outer swash plate without any problem.
For the blade grip... IT IS A PIECE OF CRAP!!!. The screw hole for the linkage ball looks like bigger than the ball screw itself. The linkage ball is like being apply with Loctite and followed by some epoxy glue just to hold the linkage ball to the blade grip. Why I said that:
I took out 2 linkage ball on the 2 of the 5 blade grip. One of them can take out but the hole cannot screw in a new one after the past loctite residue has being cleared. The 2nd can turn (unscrew) BUT it just wouldn't come out. I have to use Plyer to force it out.
Upon close inspection, I notice that during I unscrew the ball, there is sort of transparent plastic material came off. That make me suspect they are using epoxy. Inside the thread, I can see white powdery material. That should be the loctite residue.
Because of both blade grip will not be able to use TRex600 linkage ball (due to the screw hole is actually bigger that intended for M3 screw), I use TRex450 linkage ball + M2 screw + nut instead.

I'm just one step behind you SH, so don't stop quick. :D Thanks for breaking trail. I know we'll make this head work. Glad I didn't pay more than I did for it. ;)

Yep he came up with that idea that made me start thinking about one for my swift. Just if I need to go to a four bladed tail to keep it in control with the 4 bladed head.

Update:
I initially wanted to use Raptor 30/50 tail blades but I end up trying with a mixture of TRex500 tail parts instead. I was thinking of using TRex500 tail blades first and work the way up.
I replace everything from tail slider linkage rods and everthing above it.
Yesterday morning (Sunday morning), I tested and the tail is working. Authority fixed. Tail rotor is holding even on RPM around 1800.
But new problem noticed/encountered. It is the usual situation from rigid head. During hover, everything OK... but when I move any cyclics a bit, you can really see (other flying buddies also notice it) the rotor disc is out of track a bit and at the same time, the heli shake a bit. The shaking and tracking only stop when I return cyclic stick back to neutral. The tracking out is actually due to rigid head. That is the reason why I prefer rotor head to have at least a flapping capability.
Because of that, I decided to dismantle the whole head and do some modification in order to have some sort of damping flapping hinges.

I would love to see this being that my father was an observer for ASTREA. :D
