I am undertaking a UAV heli project, and I am just trying to get some info (I am pretty new to the RC world). We have a Futaba T9CHP RC transmitter for our heli, and we would like to connect a computer to the T9CHP using the 6-pin connector on the back. The computer is performing all of the control calculations to determine the desired signals that should be sent to the heli, How should I do?
I appreciate all the help I get
Thanks

There are others. I started out with SC8000SP from Tom's RC and then the PCTx. What you want is a serial/usb to PPM adaptor/converter and there have been a number of diy and commercial versions developed.

1.Can I get datas in my computer while manully control the helicopter (throught PCTx)?
2.what is the difference between PCTx convertor and other simulator convertor(can the simulator convertor send command to transmitter through computer)?

Could you elaborate on this a bit more ?

Most adaptors are designed to read the PPM signal coming from the TX and emulate a joystick on a pc to be used with sim software such as FMS. There was at least one made by milehighwings that could do the conversion both ways. I do not know about any others.

Thanks again
About the first question: I mean how can I get the signal sended by the transmittor while the helicopter is hovering or in other filght regimes.
I want to control the heli model through computer side program.Could you please give me some suggestion.

There is software called ServoCommander that works with the PCTx. This allows you to easily use a joystick connected to the PC to control your aircraft through the trainer port of the Tx.
There is example of the code on the Endurance website if you'd rather write your own.

Hi, have you solved your problem? How did you do?
I have almost the exact same question as you, how to control the helicopter by computer throught Hitec transmitter, which is not to manullay operate the joysticks.
If you have solved your problem, can you share your information? What kind of hardware and software are needed to achieve that.
Thank you.
