Vans Aircraft RV-9A Kit for sale. Wings and tail are complete, and fuselage is 70% completed. S/N 90085 purchased in 2000.
This is a regular kit, although this kit is now more complete than a fast build. Wings and tail are complete and the fuselage has been rolled, and is ready for the turtle deck installation. Its basically to the point where you need to start considering what engine, prop and avionics you plan to use. I'm sorta the original builder. My father began the project when I was in high school, and I bucked the rivets, and acted as a side-kick. He is an experienced kit builder although this is his first RV. I've worked on the project since then, and I'm currently a certified A&P Mechanic. It's a very straight forward kit, and anyone with basic hand tool skill can finish it. I'd rate this one at a "9", but compared to the workmanship of certified aircraft I see on a daily basis, I'd say it's an "11"!
Required to complete: Finishing Kit (availible from Vans), Engine, Prop, Instruments, and paint/interior. Here is a link to the RV-9/9A Page:

We intended this kit to be a 9A, with a sliding canopy, although, I don't think the project is too far along to make it a 9 or a tip-up. You may want to research parts differences if you want to change it.
I believe the only upgrade on this particular kit is electric flaps, other wise it's bone stock.
I'm not selling the tools, as I use them in my profession, although I may be willing to part with some celcos, and maybe a couple other items.
