Gentlemen

Here are a few shot of my big Stang which I electrocuted. The motor is a Turnigy 80mm X 100mm KV250 swinging a 22/12 APC prop on 11/3700 mil lipo (two fours and a 3 cell pack in series). ESC is a Turnigy 100 amp unit. This thing is scary and goes like a bat out of hell. Normal throttle setting is about 75 percent on throttle with full throttle used only occasionaly for one of "those" passes down the runway. Two flights, two landing gear malfunctions with right main popping the link to servo twice. I was told later that I needed to remove the 2 springs to resolve the problem. Excellent flyer though and a hoot on the step. Makes the gas guys set up and take notice and will put the Saito 180 and 220 to shame. Weight is about 19 pounds AUW. Radio is Spektrum DX-7 with HiTec metal gear servos all around. JR 701 (2) on board for gear retraction. Wing is removed for battery changes as I chose not to cut the hatch in the top. Also have added panel lines and nose art is forthcoming. Whole thing sprayed with Testors Dull Coat is kill shine. Now I have to figure out what color for spinner as Hanger 9 has stopped making the matching color for their Cub Yellow and nobody else is even close. Tried Krylone, Sig Dope, Monokote Cub Yellow. About ready to give up and paint it red and black split lengthwise. Enjoy it, I know I do. ed

If you take the fuse to a automotive paint shop ( like a PPG store ) they can scan the yellow and create a formula to mix the paint.
Since it is a solid color, a single stage paint would be no problem for them to mix.
The only thing, with alot of colors, is that the smallest amount of paint they can prob mix is 4-8 oz.

Hope this helps

Thanks gents for the comments and the work continues this evening on the final product. Initial nose art was applied that I had created and it didn't turn out to bad. The flesh tones faded out as the decal material was clear but still I can live with it. It's special to me as she has been my lady for over 25 years. She loves the Betty Boop character as well. Panel lines had been added and a Testors Dullcoat had been sprayed over the whole vehicle. Also stripped the spinner of paint and resprayed with white primer and then gave it three coats of cub yellow top flite paint. Ain't even close (#$@^*) so it off to the store tomorrow to match the damn color. I can't believe Hanger nine stopped making the matching paint to their color. Oh well. I've got a couple more birds to start playing with this weekend and if weather holds BJ will be headed out for a few more flights.

Oh yeah, after 28 years as a writer of Weapons and Delivery Manuals as well as Flight Manuals on the F-111, F-16, and F-22 I can put a little tale together. But in this case its all true as some can attest too. I ain't a bad stick after 40 plus years behind them. Ya'll be good now!! ed ;)
