Toes, he IS talking about Portland, OR, yes? A few years ago we were going to see a Tall Ships parade in Portland, ME. Ginny called a hotel chain, made all the reservations, and was about to hang up. She suddenly said "This reservation is for your inn in Maine, right?" NOOOOOOOOOOOO, they had us in Oregon. Got it switched in time, thankfully.

If the club doesn't have a fun run the weekend you come down, let us know.
I can run most any time given a few hours notice.

Could run at Fumiyo's house, she lives on the Columbia River and the water is very still off her deck. There is beer in the fridge !

While you're at the Hotel, you might be able to visit the LCI that
is moored on the river behind the Hotel. They are usually working on
it over the weekend, so someone should be onboard.
The closest sailing pond is Westmoreland Park, about a 20 min drive from Hayden Island.
Jantzen beach to Westmoreland Park (http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=SE+McLoughlin+Blvd+and+Bybee+Blvd,+Port land,+OR+97202+(Westmoreland+Park)&geocode=CSIpjaCGUBx7FdDgtQId8Kew-CFfvkAER-rxew&dirflg=&saddr=909+N+Hayden+Island+Dr&f=d&hl=en&dq=westmoreland+park&sll=45.577042,-122.657547&sspn=0.206084,0.034294&cid=45474000,-122640400,8931177126787333727&ie=UTF8&ll=45.573197,-122.68158&spn=0.240325,0.477905&z=11)
If I had to guess the next years schedule for the local club, they may set
the 20th as a sailing date down at Tualatin Commons.

And if you dont have any transport Salty, let me know...

Umi,
What about that park north side of Vancouver, would that not be closer than Westmoreland from Jantzen Beach?
