 Earlier this Spring doing a web search of Model Boat manufacturer sites I came across a soon to be released U.S. Coast Guard Island Class 110ft. Patrol Bost in what I referr to as a Semi- Kit, that is built up, add your own radio gear. Unfortunately I didn't bookmark that site or even write down the manufacturers name. I only know it was scheduled for release around June of this year. Internet searches under Island Class turns up only the usual suspect the Nikok ready to run boat with poor motors. Anyone know who the manufacture is or have a link to their site. Thanks ! Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

Look for IMEX. Possibly at MACK Products? But good luck, the importer has had issues getting their stock in... Anyone know anything more recent?

I just picked one up from our hobby shop at Greenfield News and Hobbies in WI
It retails for 599.
When I called Imex I was told it had to be freight shipped on a truck palette and it would cost $250 shipping.
They arranged a deal with hobby shop with shipping if they bought other stuff on order.
The hull is fiberglass and painting quality is very good.
Boat comes with no radio but is pre wired with ESC and rudder servo.
Detailing is great, but all the railings and tower are made from plastic.
I bought some little smd LED's to put inside the search lights and plan to have a separate speed control for each motor. Our season got too cold too quickly here in Wi to do a float test to see how it runs. I haven't done any photo's of it yetImex boat USCG (http://www.imex-model.com/boats1.htm)

Nate,
The only issue I have with the model is that it is "semi-scale"
I suspect that licensing is an issue.
The model lacks the official USCG emblem and has a blank white decal to the
exact shape of the emblem on the orange stripe. Letters on the side only say
"COAST GUARD" missing "US". It doesn't take much to fix all that.
Overall I am very pleased with the model

Coast Guard Models in IL has exact size
decals to fix that.
They supply Loyalhanna with their models
They also sell all kinds of fiberglass hulls of great
quality.Coast Guard Models (http://www.coastguardmodels.com/)
