Just to get some things rolling, I'll post a few pictures of some of my raceboat designs.

The first is a "P" Sport Hydro (12 cell)

I've seen that more then a few times. Very nice and as fast as it gets. I'm pretty sure the fastest P Sport I've ever seen was when Brian Vega ran your boat at the Alaska Nats.

Here are a few of mine

My favorite! - My old beat up Maus O Sport Bardahl. That boat fits me like a glove! It may get retired soon though. Andrew has a new boat one click off of this one that fixes a few quirks.

Latest project! SS1 OPC.

This is the sister ship to Larry Larsons. I built 2 in 1990 and gave one to him. I may have to drag out my templates again. It's been a long time since I've built a boat from scratch and could use a little ca on my fingers!

Doug I knew you had designed a few boats but I really had not seen them. The pictures you put up are beautiful and i am sure they run as well as they look.

That's my design Jim. I used to do a lot of boat building and experimenting about 10 years ago. That boat is the end product of a pile of mistakes. I still had 2 and gave one to Larry Larson who has set every sport straightline record there is with his. O Sport, P Sport and LSH.

I tried mine in 2001 at the saw's with 4 cells but couldn't match the speeds of the little riggers, although it was running in the low 40's.

See ya,
Dick

Hi Mike
It's 22" long with a 6" beam. Steve Reesor built a 27" version of it (now owned and raced by LOU) last year.
I plan to increase the deadrise to 25 degrees and build a 31" long version for "Q" Offshore this year.

That's a very sweet looking boat Doug. Nice size too. LOU is a lucky fellow!

Hi Trent
As usual, they are gorgeous. Are they: 4 cell on the left and
Micro on the right. Do you still have the Hacker B40 in the micro?

Hi Randy,
I'll have to check that out- cool!!

Hi Doug,
Yep, that is the old 4 cell beast - which is now run in 6-7 cell classes with a Lehner 5300 Basic. I like the 4 cell class, but after running a brushless motor - I don't want to ever go back to running brushed car motors... ;)

The MicroSport is still running a B40-13S size motor. It handles the load much better than the B20's. It's actually faster too! The 1700AUP's (7 cells) are the cells of choice.

All I can say is, you should go into business full time... This must be one of the best cases of 'B.S & D.I.R'. Brains, Style & Doing It Right! What cutting tools do you use to get the edges to meet/join so accurately? Now I know I'm fed up with my 600 can size, 8 x 2000mah, 25" V hull! It just about touches 24mph. You've given me inspiration to go for a 30" external tube-drive tunnel hydro...
Great work.
